thru casing evaluation logging
Thru Casing Evaluation Logging measures the movement of fluid contacts, changes in saturation, depletion, and injection profiles. Thru Casing evaluation logging can reevaluate mature zones that might have been logged decades ago or newly completely wellbores that were not logged at all. Thru casing logging tools provide quality measurements that aid in the evaluation of the reservoir no matter how old the well is. Typically, the cost of acquiring data from these cased holes is far less than that of drilling a new well solely to gather data. The risk of cased hole logging operations is also substantially less than that of drilling operations.
Measurements such as gamma ray, neutron, sonic and spectral gamma ray data can provide information to evaluate formations in mature fields or new well completions. It is important to understand the wellbore such as cement integrity. A cement integrity log can reveal any anomaly in the cement bonding to casing and formation that might affect results from thru casing formation evaluation measurements.
Applications:
• Reservoir monitoring behind casing
• Gas detection
• Porosity
• Identification of by-passed hydrocarbons in old wells
• Acquisition of formation evaluation data in cased hole when open hole data acquisition was not obtained
• Time lapse logging
Features and benefits:
• Formation evaluation independent of Cement Bonding
• Various tool diameters for Thru-tubing applications
• Real Time and Memory mode option
• Compatible with Warrior™ Acquisition System
• Customizable to client Surface Acquisition System
• Works on proprietary PTX Telemetry System
