The Quartz Gague Temperature Tool contains a highly stable and accurate quartz pressure sensor, combined with an external temperature sensor, to give the customer concise and accurate downhole data for use in production control and pressure transient analysis.
The surface software contains algorithms that continuously correct the data for the effects of temperature and pressure acting on the quartz pressure sensor.
The external temperature probe makes use of a platinum RTD sensing element to detect minute changes in borehole fluid temperature. The sensing element provides high sensitivity, stability and linearity over a broad temperature range. The tool output is calibrated to provide 10 hertz/°F. Temperature surveys can be used to define zones of injection or production and to detect vertical intervals of flow behind pipe.
Data is sent to the surface using proven Probe PTX digital telemetry. The tool may be run alone or combined with the Gamma Ray/CCL digital and RADII™ tools.
