4" Orientation Package

The Orientation Package incorporates a solid-state tri-axial magnetometer, tri-axial accelerometer and tri-axial angular rate gyro to provide the necessary data required to calculate the direction and inclination of the borehole.

The sensors and electronics are enclosed in a Dewar flask for heat resistance and housed in a beryllium-copper pressure housing. Data is transmitted to surface system via high-speed digital telemetry 20 times per second. The tool is designed to operate with other open-hole tools in a stacked configuration.
