The Compensated Neutron Tool (CNT) uses dual, high-temperature, ruggedized He3 thermal neutron detectors to measure formation porosity through casing and cement.
This cased-hole tool uses a side load** 15 Cu. AmBe neutron source. When combined with a gamma ray and dual receiver or Radii™ Cement Bond Tool, the data is multi-plexed with the Gamma Ray, Casing Collar Locator (CCL), and Cement Bond Log (CBT) data in a single pass in the well. The tool may also be run with the Gamma Ray/CCL tool alone.
