Are you ADIPEC ready?

Significant growth in middle east exploration, production, and drilling activities has poised Probe to be a leader in the cased hole logging and reservoir monitoring technology sector of the industry. Determined to be out-front in this market Probe is excited to be showcased at the annual Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference.

Located in hall 4, booth 4110, Probe will highlight its new HD platform. This exciting new development enables customers to run an extensive suite of cased-hole solutions on the same telemetry in real-time mode, or alternatively in memory mode.

The new HD platform was born out of the year-long integration of Probe and Hunter Well Science tools after the 2017 merger of the two companies.

If you are interested in learning about this development or how oilfield service companies, IOCS, NOCS and geothermal companies around the world trust and rely upon Probe to deliver equipment that leads to optimization of their assets, stop by and visit us at our booth. You can also send us a quick note online here.

Probe Facilities Receive Highest Certification for Quality

In the oil and gas industry, talk of quality and reliability often takes the forefront in public discussion. It’s easy to see why—the true cost when products and services fail to perform can be staggering. For us though, commitment to quality and reliability isn’t just one of the things we aim for—its why we exist at all. Like many other industries—our industry is judged by a single bedrock standard from the International Organization for Standardization: the ISO 9001:2015.

Earning this certification is recognized worldwide as a powerful indicator of an organization’s ability to consistently and continually improve the delivery of products and services that meet the high expectations of end users.

That’s why we’re thrilled to announce that all four of our production facilities are now certified to ISO 9001:2015 standards. The previous standard, the ISO 9001:2008, was updated by the ISO in 2015, and organizations were given three years to demonstrate conformance to the new standards.

Our team worked hard and set aggressive targets to complete this certification process well before the deadline, and we’re very proud of their dedication and their focus on meeting customer needs.

For us, it starts—and ends—with our customers. As we continue to design and deliver cutting-edge logging and reservoir analysis technologies, we’ll keep working to ensure that everything we produce and provide is to a consistently high standard and fit for purpose.

Probe Introduces E-commerce Site

Two of our core values at Probe are focus and innovation. We continually strive to live by what matters most to us, so as we continue to move forward, we’re looking at how we can serve our customers even more effectively. This quarter, we’ve taken the initiative to develop an e-commerce site. This online store provides a way for customers to place orders quickly and efficiently. It reduces errors and miscommunication by providing a record of every order. It also frees us to focus on developing the technology and providing the service that helps our customers meet their objectives.

We have been quite busy setting up this new feature, and we’re excited to be able to announce it!

The ordering process will be familiar to anyone who has ever purchased online: simply find the items you need, select the quantity, add them to your cart, and check out.

Though the site is currently populated with accessories from the iPro™ Wireless Instrumentation solutions line, we plan to add more products to the site as it grows. We would welcome our customers’ input about which products they’d like to be able to purchase from the site.

To visit the new online store, go to http://www.probe1.com/shop or click the “shop” link from the menu at the top of our website. As always, if you have further questions or need other assistance, please contact your Probe representative or reach out via this Contact Us link.

Probe Supporting Community Talent

Probe’s backbone has always been our commitment to quality and excellence. This doesn’t apply only to our approach toward designing our next market-leading cased-hole logging or reservoir monitoring technology. This same commitment applies to our focus and dedication toward connecting with our customers by providing impeccable support, outstanding service, and ultimately delivering value.

That’s why we take special care in supporting and developing talent within our organization. There are many talented individuals outside the Probe family as well, and we feel privileged to occasionally be able to partner with them as they achieve amazing things.

One such example is Tristan Rennie of Aberdeen, UK. Although he’s only 13, Tristan has set some ambitious goals. He works hard to excel in school and is also working hard to excel in competitive racing. Tristan is receiving more and more recognition in the competitive karting circles, yet remains humble and centered, and has become a role model for young people within his community, and increasingly across the UK. Tristan is in his 4th season of racing and has gathered an impressive collection of accolades including more than 75 trophies.

This year, Tristan won the Scottish Open kart racing championship and then went on to become the first Scot ever to win the English Championship and run the E plate. This is our first season sponsoring Tristan, so we certainly can’t take credit for his racing success. It’s his initiative, passion, and drive (pardon the pun) to challenge himself to achieve great things that has led to these accomplishments.

The English championship is put on by the Association of British kart Clubs (ABkC) in coordination with the Motor Sports Association, which is the sole national governing body for 4-wheeled motor sport in the UK.

Congratulations, Tristan, and keep up the great work! For more information on Tristan’s racing accomplishments, visit www.facebook.com/tristanrennieracing/

Multi-Arm Caliper Tools: A Brief Introduction to MAC™

Multi-arm or multi-finger caliper logs have been used for decades to create a detailed quantitative profile of the inside of a completion, enabling operators to identify a wide range of integrity problems through the life of the well, such as mineral deposition, corrosion, wear, or mechanical deformation.

Our MAC™ multi-arm caliper tools are designed in diameters that allow them to pass through most completion restrictions. Probe currently offers 40, and 60-finger configurations, and a new-generation 24-finger configuration is anticipated for commercial release in early 2019. The new generation MAC24 incorporates a series of design improvements over previous tools, including highly stable DVRT sensors and the ability to log in real time with surface read-out for electric wireline applications, or in memory mode with battery power for slickline and coiled tubing applications.

As a MAC tool logs the internal profile of the completion, it converts the mechanical movement of each arm—commonly referred to as a “finger”—to an individual electrical signal. The signal from each arm is then converted into a calibrated radial measurement that can be presented in various formats, including individual arm measurements, a casing cross-sectional diagram or a 3-dimensional, color-enhanced visualization.

Directional data is acquired simultaneously and can also be included in the log presentation. MAC tool data can be acquired on a standard Warrior™ cased-hole logging panel to offer real-time plotting of downhole data, high-speed data transmission, data processing, and vivid imaging of the inspected casing.

We’d love to talk more with you about how the MAC tool—and our other well integrity products—could help you build a reputable well integrity monitoring business. For more information, click here.

Probe Presents Paper on iQ Tool at SPWLA

We were at SPWLA in London this month and were pleased to present a paper on the iQ™ magnetic properties tool. The iQ tool features a ruggedized design that provides azimuthal casing thickness without delicate arms, pads, or bow springs.

We received a lot of positive customer feedback after the presentation and are excited to see how the iQ tool can help ensure the integrity of wells all over the world. For more information on the paper, click here.
